If people were meant to see 3D movies they would have been born with two eyes. Sam Goldwyn
Please read the Stereo Photography section before reading this section as I have not duplicated content and all that related to conventional stereo imagery also related to stereo infrared imagery. Also read the section on Infrared Photography..

Infrared has the advantage of producing a soft and magical radiance to everything in a composition. It minimise surface detail, and emphasises the underlying form in other words it highlights the essence of form. Infrared light is interesting because it is invisible to the human eye and thus reminds us that there are many "realities" of which we are not aware.
Infrared Red 3D has a strong appeal for fine art photographers like me. It looks surreal and otherworldly, with trees taking on a bright white or yellow hue and skies a red or blue hue. Leaves appear frozen over, and skies take on dramatic colours in both black and white and colour photography.
Perhaps we all should be paying more attention towards these hidden otherworldly realities?
For me, the combination of stereo and infrared produce a translucent world. That is an idolisation of the physical one. As such as an photographer I had to explore this world.
When I first started using infrared, it was done on film. Infor film was extremely difficult to use because it had to be loaded in complete darkness. In the dark room to want to spend hours in pitch dark room, darkness, Infor film was also prone to defect of course now with a digital camera, all of these difficulties have disappeared.
I was quite surprised to find there is absolutely nothing on the Internet about stereo infrared photography, hence decided to produce something myself.
“With five feeble senses we pretend to comprehend the boundlessly complex cosmos, yet other beings with wider, stronger, or different range of senses might not only see very differently the things we see, but might see and study whole worlds of matter, energy, and life which lie close at hand yet can never be detected with the senses we have.”
HP Lovecraft in From Beyond written 1920 published 1934
IR pictures are beautiful reminders of the way things really are. Beneath the world's apparent disorder you can find a subtler order. Infrared helps penetrate behind the veil, while stereo adds a mysterious dimension of its own.
We do not need exotic locations indeed these quick pictures were taken right in front of my window during the least likely time of year. Beauty is where you find it. All you have to do is look.
